Let's Remember Together
For the visits when you run out of things to say.
Everyday Life
Before every meal

A video by William Hanson
Follow your hands: go through the story, then let the gesture answer.
As a child, you learnt to lay the table. The cloth smoothed flat with the palm of your hand, the plate set straight in the middle, the glass at the top right. Then the cutlery, lined up at the edge. Your hands have done it a thousand times, and the gesture may come back on its own. The fork – which side of the plate did it go on?
Mime it: put the fork down on one side, the knife on the other. The knife went on the right – so where did the fork go? Who checked the table at home?
Answer: On the left – and the knife on the right, ready for the meal.
Why this game : Some gestures stay in the hands for life – laying a table brings back the kitchen and the person who taught you.
