Game 98

The seasons back in their places

Everything in its turn

The game's question

Put the four in order out loud, one after the other, as the year turns.

Snow on the windowsill, the first buds, sandcastles, conkers on the pavement: each season had its own treasures. But this list has got muddled: summer, winter, spring, autumn. Between the two of you, put it back in the order the year brings it, starting with the season that follows winter.

Four seasons, said in order out loud

Need a hint?

Follow the garden: first the buds, then the long warm days, then the falling leaves. A little rhythm, like a skipping rhyme, helps the order along.

See the answer

Answer: Spring, summer, autumn, winter – and round it goes again.

Why this game : Rebuilding the year in order gives a sense of everything in its place, and each season comes with its own stories.
